Solve Siri’s “Can’t Connect to the Network” error response!

Apple’s new iPhone 4S Siri would sometime give you lame responses like “Can’t Connect to the Network” responses. This is an error with either your Network or with the Apple’s Servers.

Siri has been in demand since it got unveiled at Let’s Talk iPhone event back in October this year. And Apple’s Servers have been running hot ever since. And whenever some update or some other important things happen on the server, the Siri goes down for sometime, and it starts screaming that it’s not able to contact the servers and the Network is down and such things.

But you could use these tips to establish a connection with the servers again and get Siri working like before. Before which you have to understand on why this happens and is the fault on your side or with the Apple.

Why does Siri say so?

Everytime you talk to Siri, asking for some question or help, Siri does not have an internal (Large) database to promptly respond to you. Instead, Apple has the entire databases with them on their Servers and Siri pulls the appropriate answers for the questions you ask. If you want to know the detailed working of Siri, you may have to read this article.

Siri throws this error because of two reasons:

  1. Your network is not working. (Or you are offline)
  2. Apple’s iCloud servers are down temporarily!
Either of the two will be the case when Siri says this to you! So, how do you solve this?

How to get rid of this error?

But sometimes, this error may be completely on your side without you knowing it. So, here’s how you could fix this error.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Select Siri
  4. Toggle the Siri’s switch to Off and wait for sometime for the changes to take place. 30 secs may be.
Once you are done with this, perform the Network Reset Operation:
  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Select Reset
  4. Now, Tap on the Reset Network Settings button.
This would reset your phone’s network settings and your phone will reboot. Don’t worry, it will just reset your network settings and will not reset any data from your phone!
  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Select Siri
  4. Toggle the Siri’s switch to On and wait for sometime for the changes to take place. 30 secs may be.
This should fix the problem and Siri will start working all over again! Do this with patience. Do not do everything in a hurry.
[alert_box type=”General”]Still not working? You may have to perform this steps again. But wait for 3 seconds between each step you perform like turning on and off Siri etc., And it will fix your issue![/alert_box]
