The Google Nexus’s build that fixes the Volume bug has leaked on the internet and is now available for Download. This fixes the Inadequate frequency shielding on the Nexus phones.
When a phone running on a 900MHz 2G network is placed next to Google Nexus’ Volume Rocker, the phone becomes unstable. After some digging up, it was found that the bug can be solved with a software update and Google has been working on it for a while now, and has the build in internal testing. The bug was originally found by users who luckily got developers’ build of Ice Cream Sandwich and they noticed missed calls and alerts when another phone was placed next to it.
The Ice Cream Sandwich build that under internal testing seems to be fixing the bug. The build is now available for download from major file sharing websites. Paul O’ Brien, from MoDaCo has got this build out and found that the bug has been fixed. If you’ve been affected by this bug, just update your phone to this build and you’d be good to go!
But another important thing to be noted is that, Samsung is still testing it internally and is NOT available officially yet. The build that would come out would be different from the one that’s got leaked. The entire installation steps can be found here to install this build of ICS onto your device.
Again, do this at your own risk. I advice this since this is not officially out yet. But if you are unable to use your new device because of this bug, go ahead and update it and let me know if it fixed your issue!
