Apple has officially declared that they have sold the new iPhone 4S to over 1 million units in just 24 hours. This is the most successful device in Apple’s history.
Apple announced their new iPhone 4S at their “Let’s talk iPhone” event on October 4th at Infinite Loop campus. And today, the Cupertino based company has announced that the pre-orders has crossed over 1 million in just 24 hours.
Previously, the iPhone 4 reached a whooping 600, 000 units. This new record includes customers from U.S, Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany and Japan with a variety of mobile operators. The iPhone 4S is expected to reach the customers who pre-ordered on October 14th, after which the device will be available for the general public in stores.
One of the biggest mobile operator, AT&T released their insight on the iPhone 4S pre-orders and said that they have already taken over 200, 000 pre-orders in just 12 hours.
Though many people have been disappointed with the new device, since it is just an upgrade, rather than a major revamp of the device, the pre-orders have already hit more than what the company had expected it. The iPhone 4S ships with an awesome 8 MP camera, Siri – Personal Assistant with AI in it and a lot more enhancements to the existing iPhone 4.
The device will be made available in more countries in the coming months.
