Some of the iPhone 4S owners seem to be facing problem with their phone’s battery. So, here’s how you could probably come over the problem.
Apple unveiled iPhone 4S at Let’s talk iPhone Media event on October 4th. The phone went to the users on October 14th and Apple sold a record breaking 4 million iPhone 4S units in just 3 days. Even though the users were happy with the iPhone 4S device’s configuration, some users are unhappy with the way their battery performs.
The high battery drain can be majorly reduced by tweaking the iOS 5’s settings. I have posted a tutorial on how to reduce this drain by tweaking the settings. But there’s some more thing you need to do to save your iPhone 4S’ battery. One of the major thing that could save your batter life on iPhone 4S is to Calibrate the battery.
If you could read the manual that comes with iPhone 4S, Apple has advised you to calibrate the device’s battery when you get the phone in hand and charge it for the first time. Apple has also been contacting some of the users who have posted about the issue on the Apple discussion forum and have been providing some tips to overcome this issue.
One method seems to have been working on the iPhone 4S is Calibrating the battery. Doing this have increased the battery life of the device. Also, there’s also a bug in iOS 5 that displays inaccurate battery percentage. If you are facing this issue, just try doing a DFU restore with a new firmware downloaded from Apple’s server.
What is Calibration and How to do it?
Calibration is nothing but to re-charge your battery in regular cycles, so that they electron movement is happening in regular intervals and without any glitch! So, how do you Calibrate it? All you need to do is, Charge up your iPhone 4S’ battery to 100% (Leave the phone for more than one hour even if the phone shows 100%) and then drain the battery to the lowest (Until it automatically shuts down). Do this every month and your battery will live longer!
As always advised, always try to re-charge your battery only after your phone hits less than 10% of battery. This way, it will have proper recharge cycles all over its life. The electrons in the battery will move not so frequently.
iPhone 4S has a powerful GPU in it, which would obviously consume a lot of battery life when using it to play HD gaming. Apple is said to be working on a fix for the issue. And some say that it is a software problem. If so, iOS 5.1 is not too far from here.
