Facebook removes limitation for setting Vanity URL for Pages.

Summary: Facebook has now removed the limitation that a Facebook Page must have atleast 25 Likes to get a vanity URL. Anyone can get a vanity URL now for their pages.

Facebook has been making some significant changes to its website and recently they removed the Discussions tab from Pages. Now, Facebook has removed the limitation that a Page must have atleast 25 likes to get a vanity URL that cannot be changed later.

The official Facebook FAQ section still says that you need to have atleast 25 likes to get a vanity URL. But this is not the case now. Facebook has silently removed this ban.

I tried creating a new Facebook page and checked if the vanity URL was available and I was able to set the URL with 0 likes. The screenshot below shows a new page with no likes for it. Infact, it was not even published:

Once done selecting the vanity URL, we can now see the Facebook Page. And again, the page has 0 (Zero) likes:

Facebook has been working hard to make it the best social media platform. It’s nice to see the change coming our way. This might also be a bug, but still, it works right now!
