Here are some of the most useful shortcuts that would come in handy for you anytime you are on Windows 8 running on your tablet PC with a touch interface.
Windows 8 made its debut at the BUILD conference on September 22nd and has been making a buzz around the internet for a while. With the new OS in hand, it is essential to know some of the shortcuts that are going to work on a Tablet PC (Touch Enabled).
Some shortcuts might work on a desktop PC as well, but let’s just concentrate on the touch enabled tablet PCs alone.
- Windows + E: Switches to a desktop mode from touch mode. You need to use physical mouse and keyboard to operate your PC.
- Windows + O: Turns the screen rotation on or off. It also locks the orientation of the screen.
- windows + L: Locks your Windows 8 machine.
- Windows + Z: Fires up the application bar at the bottom.
- Windows + C: Brings up the charms menu along with the time panel.
- Windows + <any key>: Will fire up a search result with the key you press alongside the Windows key
I will keep this post updated as and when I find some shortcuts for touch enabled devices running Windows 8. Feel free to post some shortcuts that you find in the comments section!
