Microsoft unveils WebMatrix 2 Beta with some huge improvements!

Microsoft just outsed their next beta of WebMatrix, a very powerful tool for creating complex websites. The new beta comes with a simple and elegant installation method, along with some big changes.

Microsoft has released the beta of WebMatrix. WebMatrix is a tool which helps us to create some complex websites with ease. It also simulates almost all the popular platforms in the local system, making it easy for us to test and develop websites with ease.

The new beta has some cool new templates like Personal Websites, Photo Gallery, etc., to start off with, for the newbies. As mentioned earlier, the installation process is now pretty much streamlined, allowing us to easily install various other major components into the PC easily. The installation package includes SQL Server Compact 4.0 and IIS 7.5 Express. You also have the liberty to install other CMS platforms like DotNetNuke, Drupal, WordPress, phpBB, Tiki Wiki, Joomla, etc.,

The tool now supports more than 59 languages now. All you need to do is, choose the appropriate language and platform you want to work on, and WebMatrix will help you by downloading the platform and language related compilers into your system automatically. The new beta also sports a NuGet Package Manager for easy Database management for ASP.NET applications and ASP.NET WebPages 2 development.

Another major feature that is worth mentioning is the new intellisense feature for more languages like PHP, .NET, HTML, CSS and JScript. The beta is also equipped with remote file editing feature, like Coda, which allows you to edit files on your server directly, instead of downloading it to your PC, edit it, and then upload the file onto the server.

WebMatrix is such an amazing tool and it just got a lot more better now with the new beta.
