Microsoft just let out a video that shows a new method to Copy, Rename and Move files across locations.
Microsoft has been working hard on their next big version of Windows, the Windows 8. The OS is expected to launch early next year at their official BUILD conference.
Windows 8 was previewed before by Microsoft’s CEO, Steve Ballmer which showcased a Metro UI and other major overhauls to it’s internal architecture as well as the UI.
With respect to this Microsoft has come up with a new way of handling the Copy, Move and Rename functionalities. This functionality was demoed by Microsoft and has been posted on their MSDN community.
The video below explains the new functionalities. All the files that are in the queue for copying or moving or renaming will be put under one dialog box and will show you a graph of how much disc usage is being made and other essential statistics. The new dialog box will also showcase file name collisions with the file’s thumbnails that would help the user decide on which file to replace or rename.
This is just a teaser of what Windows 8 has got in it’s sleeves. We need to wait for sometime to get our hands-on with this new OS. Microsoft would be taking up this version very seriously, since they’ve been losing some considerable share of PCs to Mac recently.
