Microsoft’s Bing team today announced a new Location Sharing app for its devices called We’re in, to throw straight competition to Foursquare and Gowalla.
On Thursday, Microsoft’ Bing team unveiled the new location sharing app called We’re in. The app has come out as a major competitor to Foursquare, which is a major location sharing app till date for almost all platforms.
Google’s Latitude also does a similar job, but We’re in is a way lot different than what it does. With this app, you can create an invitation and arrange for a quick meetup or an event with ease.
Here’s what the Bing team has to say about We’re In:
We’re In makes organizing get- together’s, carpooling and trying to find people in a crowd a breeze. Any time you want to see where your friends are—We’re In can help you. It’s simple, invite your friends, and when they join, they’ll see your location and you’ll see theirs. When the invite expires, so does the shared location – no complicated process to worry about.
One of the major feature with this app is the ability to maintain your privacy. You can always leave a location forcefully. And also, the app alerts you after turning off the location service when the planned time is up!
Microsoft has also shown interest in bringing We’re in to other platforms too! Hope this will be a game changer for Microsoft in Social Sharing field. If you’d forgotten, Microsoft’s build-in process social network got leaked few weeks ago. You can have a read about it here.
