iOS 5 has been introducing some seriously awesome features that it consumes some considerable amount of battery life. Early in iOS 5 beta 1, the battery life was really poor and people were afraid of upgrading to iOS 5. But after iOS 5 beta 3, the battery life has improved, but still, it is slightly less than that iOS 4 gave to the users.
Inorder to save the battery life of iOS5, there are a couple of features you’d have to compromise to get your battery pushing to it’s best of its ability. Here are some tips to save battery life of iOS 5.
- Switch off Notifications from Notification Center. If you’re not sure how to completely turn off Notifications on iOS 5, here’s a post I made already to Turn off notifications in iOS 5.
- Turn off Location Services
- Turn off iMessage
- Turn off Push services
- Turn off Unwanted features from Spotlight search under settings. Spotlight indexes the database time and again, and consumes some amount of battery life.
- Turn off Equalizer from iPod settings.
These are some tips to save your battery life in iOS 5. I’ve tested and my battery life increased by 2.5 hours a day after disabling Notification Center, Location Services and Push messages. iMessage was still On!
