How to rename Launchpad folders in OS X Lion (10.7)

Mac OS X Lion came up with a really new mobile bridging feature called the Launchpad for Mac OS. This is the new Springboard for your Mac. One new feature that many like is the new way to organize your apps into folders like you do on your iPhone or iPad.

But they complication here is that, you need to go a step further to rename the folder you created. Here’s how you could do so:

  • Long click an icon till it starts shaking.
  • Drag it into another app’s icon to create a folder.
  • Now, the folder name will be displayed. Just Double-click on the folder name and it will turn into an editable text box.
  • Rename and click elsewhere to save the folder name.
There are a lot of hidden features that are yet to be spread to the community. I’ve found about 20+ now. Will be posting soon. Until then, follow me on twitter (@ImKarthikK) or subscribe to my RSS.
