The new Mac OS X Lion now allows you to restart automatically when your Mac freezes. You usually restart your Mac by holding the power button for more than 4 seconds to do a hard reset. But now, you don’t have to feel bad to kill your Mac when it freezes and bring it back to life to resume your work.
This feature is not listed among the 250 features that Apple listed. It is very rare that your Mac freezes. It usually freezes when there are a lot of applications consuming so much of memory or due to the use of apps that is not well coded. This feature is a breeze for all those who majorly use their Mac for development purpose.
All you need to do to get this feature working it to just trigger a toggle that’s available in the Energy Saver settings. Here’s how you could so it.
- Go to System Preferences > Energy Saver
- Toggle the “Restart automatically if the computer freezes” . It will be unchecked by default.
