Microsoft Office 365 to be unveiled on 28th June by Steve Ballmer

Microsoft just issues a press release of their upcoming cloud-based service, Office 365. This new cloud-based and Windows Azure hosted service is to be unveiled on Tuesday, the June 28th. And guess who will unveil this new service? It will be none other than CEO of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer. Microsoft is really excited about this move and are expecting to generate some good revenue out of it.

The next generation cloud service has been in beta testing for a while now, October 2010 to be precise. And have been getting some good feedback from the users. Microsoft is making this move to create some buzz around the internet since they’ve always had less leaks and buzzes lately.

The new Office 365 will feature a 25 GB email storage per user and also pretty good 25 MB of file attachments in emails. Office 365 will also sport SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and Lync Online for the users and will be charged at $6 per month, per user.

Looks like Microsoft is proving to be a rival for Cisco’s Webex. Office 365 is also providing Online Meetings, Video chatting and desktop sharing for the users. One of the biggest threat that Microsoft is facing now is the most successful Google Apps.

Office 365 aims at bringing Microsoft Office desktop experience Online and we must admit, they have lived up to the expectation. You can view the event online here.
