I have been blogging about iOS 5, its features, how-to’s and many more about it recently and also wrote a tutorial on Activating iOS 5 beta 1 without a developer account. But now that the next beta is coming soon, here are some important information you need to know about the current beta, it’s validation and activation and the next one.
Recently @iH8sn0w, tweeted that iOS 5 beta would expire on August 4th.
So what does it mean if you are currently using iOS 5 beta 1 on your device? Here are the few questions that I answer about iOS 5 beta.
Q: I’m using iOS 5 beta 1 with my UDID added to my friend’s account. Can I upgrade to next beta releases?
A: Yes! You are good to go. It would run safe and sound.
Q: I haven’t added my UDID to any Dev account. What will happen to my phone after August 4th?
A: It might brick your phone until the final version releases. Since the bootrom exploit has already been closed in iOS 5. So, I would advice you to downgrade to iOS 4.3.3 to be safe.
Q: I used the iOS 5 beta activation bypass method. What will I do now?
A: The above answer is the same for this question. And also, you MUST downgrade to iOS 4.3.3 before August 4.
Q: What precautions should I take now?
A: Backup your SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella. Your either need to add your UDID to an Apple Dev Account or Downgrade to iOS 4.3.3.
