Here’s the big news. Nokia and Microsoft today announced their partnership to create a new mobile ecosystem. Under this partnership, Nokia and Microsoft has come forward to develop products that have huge markets and also services that would offer a lot of value to customers and service providers. I think this is going to be big. There is going to be some good competition among the mobile majors now. Both Nokia and Microsoft will contribute their strengths to create innovative products.
Here’s what Steve Ballmer has to say about this new partnership:
“I am excited about this partnership with Nokia, Ecosystems thrive when fueled by speed, innovation and scale. The partnership announced today provides incredible scale, vast expertise in hardware and software innovation and a proven ability to execute.”
And Stephen Elop said, “Today, developers, operators and consumers want compelling mobile products, which include not only the device, but the software, services, applications and customer support that make a great experience,” He further added by saying, “Nokia and Microsoft will combine our strengths to deliver an ecosystem with unrivalled global reach and scale. It’s now a three-horse race.”
Let’s hope for something big in future. Let the game begin! 🙂
