Hi there,
I know I’m posting after a long time. I sincerely apologize for that first of all. Now, I’m back again with some useful stuffs. Here goes one of that kind:
I was speaking with an Intel’s employee last week, and we had a coffee chat about the latest technologies that were about to peak out from Intel corp. As I asked him with this specific word, "Peak", he remembered the yet to become true, "Light Peak". Light peak is a technology, that is much similar to the Optical cables. Light Peaks are capable of transmitting data simultaneously. Say that you can transfer your data to Hard Drive, to your friend via the Internet, and to your other computer via some LAN, etc.,
And some researchers do say that its capable of transferring data upto 40 to 100 Gpbs with the Intel’s Light Peaks. Sound great actually. And Intel is working hard to SHIP these Light Peaks as early as possible, and they have a tentative idea of revealing this in 2010 probably.
These chips will be having the same chipsets and other components same as the Telecom thing, and also, allows us to cut down the cost as much as we can. There is not going to be many mods in the chipsets and their programs, but he made me clear that its the cable that will be doing all the transferring work actually. :). I too got an information that Sony is also helping out Intel in this project.
I think its now time for these two biggies to play the game. 🙂
