After you add your site to the Bing, you will see the below page.

2. Now, this page has the meta tag or the XML file authentication file. Now, copy the meta tag to your clipboard and navigate to your WordPress Admin page. (http://www.yoursitename.com/wp-admin).

3

3. Now there is an easy way through which you can add the meta tag to your file. You may use the wp-insert plugin, made by Namith Jawahar, to your wordpress site. The plugin can be downloaded here. (Tip: You may find a tutorial on how to install plugin to your wordpress blog here.). Once you install the plugin, the WP-INSERT options will be seen in your admin panel.

4

4. Now click on the “Tracking Codes” option under the wp-insert options. And copy and paste your Meta Tag in the “Insert Code into Header” option, and click on “Enabled”. Save your settings, and Hard refresh your wordpress site. (Press Ctrl + F5).

5

5. Now, go to your Bing page, after Step 4. And click on the Site List. Now, You will be able to find the site you added in that page.

6

6. Click on  the name of your site in that page. After clicking your site name, you will receive a message saying that the Site has been verified.

7

7. Now, Wait for your site to get indexed.

Thank you for the encouragement! And did Bing say that it has verified? That message would be shown for a very shot time. Did you notice it? And also, It would take a while for Bing to index your blog! 🙂

  • thank good aritcle

  • Thanks a lot for sharing

  • my initial test result shows that Bing is as good as Google when displaying relevant search results. Google might be having a tough competitor with Microsofts own search engine.
